How to Patina Bronze Swords with Household Items.
In this video Allen Newberry J.S. will be showing how to patina bronze swords using household items. In this case salt and vinegar. This technique can be used on other items aside from swords that are made of bronze. In my other videos you can watch me cast the bronze sword (bronze casting) and there is also a video showing this and other patina techniques. And of course plenty of other knifemaking content. So if you are a knife enthusiast come check out my other videos on knives and knifemaking.
Here is the video where the bronze sword was cast:

    I made about 12 different sized ones of these about 20 years ago using exacto holders. The one you made does not hold the blade straight, and even then you align it properly it could slip and it's job ruined maybe 🍷

      @AllenNewberry 4 дні тому

      The ones made from an exacto knife tool inserted into a graver handle are superior. These are quick and easy to make. Which may help someone get started who wouldn’t otherwise. They can work quite well. But, you have to really tighten them to hold the blades in position.

      I keep it indoors and I rub oil on it occasionally. It also was previously rusty so it has a protective patina on it.

    Why is inlay wire flat? What's the benefit over traditional round wire?

    • @herobalder
      @herobalder 2 місяці тому

      When i did some inlay work myself (amateur), flat wire made it way easier to hammer in/fit in the groove you cut. Round wire flattened on "top" of the groove, if that makes sense. Made it harder for it to actually inlay correctly.
